2013 Brabus Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG
The legitimate successor of the legendary BRABUS 800 E V12
625 kW / 850 hp, 1,450 Nm of torque, top speed 350 km/h plus
625 kW / 850 hp (838 bhp), 1,450 Nm (1,069 lb-ft) of torque, a top speed in excess of 350 km/h (217 mph): these are the performance cornerstones of the new BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo that comes to the starting line as the legitimate successor of the famed BRABUS 800 E V12 at the 2013 IAA.
For almost two decades the four generations of the BRABUS E V12 ruled the segment of the superfast sedans. What once started with the implantation of a BRABUS 6.9 V12 high-capacity engine producing 375 kW / 509 hp (503 bhp) into the body of a Mercedes 500 E of the W 124 model series, and culminated in the BRABUS E V12 “one of ten” with 588 kW / 800 hp (790 bhp) and a top speed in excess of 370 km/h (230 mph) presented at the 2009 IAA, now finds its even more powerful continuation.
The BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo based on the current Mercedes E 63 AMG uses eight instead of twelve cylinders. To this end the motor engineers from BRABUS developed a new high-performance high-capacity engine with a displacement of six liters (361 cu. in.).
Like its predecessors, the new BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo, which is also available as a wagon, comes of course with an efficient BRABUS aerodynamic-enhancement kit, tailor-made BRABUS Monoblock wheels and an exclusive BRABUS fine leather interior.

The eight-cylinder engine of the AMG E 63 and its two turbochargers provide the perfect breeding ground for an enormous power boost. To this end the BRABUS motor engineers developed a displacement increase from standard 5,461 cc to 5,912 cc (333 to 361 cu. in.). Simply increasing the bore of the eight cylinders in the BRABUS high-tech engine-building shop to 99 millimeters (3.89 in.) would be insufficient. The precision-balanced billet crankshaft with a stroke of 96 mm (3.78) instead of the standard 90.5 millimeters (3.56 in.) in concert with special forged billet piston rods completes the displacement increase. In addition, both cylinder heads are optimized for mixture flow.
The turbocharging system of the eight-cylinder four-valve engine is upgraded accordingly: the air intake system and the two BRABUS turbochargers with larger compressor unit and special manifold were all developed from the ground up. The BRABUS 850 intake module with an air filter box with larger cross section was developed to supply the adequate amount of air. An air duct integrated into the hood is also part of this special intake manifold as is the larger intake pipe, which is positioned directly exposed to the relative wind in the front fascia to provide air to the engine.
Low charge-air temperatures are beneficial to power yield and engine temperatures, and consequently BRABUS equips the intake and charge-air pipes of this engine with eye-catching "Gold Heat Reflection" sheathing.
Free-flow metal catalysts and a BRABUS high-performance exhaust system with controlled butterfly valve are installed on the exhaust side. This includes active control of the exhaust note from the driver’s seat. At the push of a button drivers can choose between a quiet “Coming Home” mode and an earthy, full-blooded V8 sound when the “Sport” position is selected. With its dual ceramic-coated design tailpipes on either side with cast BRABUS logo this exhaust system is also a visual treat.

The BRABUS electronics engineers used their immense know-how and state-of-the-art engine test rigs to recalibrate the engine management system to ensure the perfect interaction of all high-performance components and consequently an optimal power output. The result is not only the tremendous performance potential but also compliance with stringent EURO VI emission standards. The high-tech lubricants for the entire powertrain are supplied by technology partner MOTUL.
The performance data of the BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo high-capacity engine speak volumes: 625 kW / 850 hp (838 bhp) at a low 5,400 rpm are as unique for a street-legal sedan as a steady torque of 1,450 Nm (1,069 lb-ft) between 2,500 and 4,500 rpm. In the car this figure is limited to 1,150 Nm (848 lb-ft) to reduce strain on the drivetrain. Of course this high-performance engine is also backed by the one-of-a-kind BRABUS Tuning Warranty of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers/62,000 miles .

In conjunction with the modified AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission the new engine lifts all versions of the E 63 AMG to a performance level previously virtually inconceivable for a sedan or wagon. With rear-wheel drive the BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo sprints from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds. With 4MATIC all-wheel drive and the added traction it provides this exercise actually takes only 3.1 seconds.
Depending on the tires, final drive ratio and programming of the BRABUS Vmax unit the top speed ranges between 300 km/h (186 mph) and more than 350 km/h (217 mph).
At these tremendous speeds favorable aerodynamic properties are essential for perfect handling stability. The BRABUS designers went into the wind tunnel to develop bodywork components made from extremely lightweight yet ultra-strong carbon fiber.

The front spoiler lip attaches to the underside of the production bumper of the E 63. Its shape reduces negative lift on the front axle of sedan and wagon. It is complemented by newly styled design elements for the front fenders of the E 63 AMG that make its side view even more dynamic.
Also made from this superlight composite material are the BRABUS rear separation edge and the diffuser insert, which provides the perfect backdrop for the two dual tailpipes of the BRABUS sport exhaust.

The immense top speed of the BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo requires special high-performance tires supplied by technology partners Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA. The largest version features one-piece BRABUS Monoblock F or R wheels in size 9.5Jx20 with high-speed-capable tires in sizes 255/30 ZR 20 on the front axle and 285/25 ZR 20 tires in back. There is also a version featuring BRABUS Monoblock R "Platinum Edition" forged wheels in size 9Jx20 in front and size 10.5Jx20 on the rear axle.
The BRABUS fine leather interior, which is handcrafted meticulously by the experienced upholsterers of the automotive refinement specialist, can be ordered in any desired color. To complement the black leather upholstery of the IAA show car made from especially soft and breathable BRABUS Mastik leather, the ornamental carpenters from BRABUS created an exclusive wood trim package with “Night Birch” grain.
The BRABUS aluminum shift paddles with highly ergonomic design and the BRABUS RACE pedals add a markedly sporty note.
The BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo can be ordered as a complete car or BRABUS can convert any existing current Mercedes E 63 AMG entirely or step by step to this specification.
