Donzi 35ZR
a powerful visceral response from the onlooker. Featuring a lowered stance and sleek lines that suggest agility and speed, these new models incorporate numerous embellishments from Donzi’s ZR race boat, combined with classic
Donzi flair. The net effect is a look that is at once both evolutionary, yet distinctly Donzi.
A long, low-slung bow enhances visibility and inspires driver confidence, while at the same time offering reduced drag for increased aerodynamic efficiency. A recessed, centerline deck rail adds style while facilitating foredeck access. Side-by-side flush-mounted deck hatches and Donzi’s innovative recessed hi-intensity LED navigation lights provide function without detracting from the stunning simplicity of the ZR’s wind-cheating design.
The clean simplicity of the bow is offset by remarkably curvaceous stern quarters. The ZR’s fluid profile rises gracefully to accommodate an ample engine compartment beset with custom rigging and the power of your choosing,
concealed beneath a low-profile engine hatch with recessed air intake scoops and integrated sun pad.
Advanced Helm Ergonomics: The ZR cockpit offers all the features one would expect from a boat of this caliber and combines them in a dynamic fashion most commonly associated with high-end sports cars. The helm area is decidedly driver-oriented, with controls smartly arranged and placed within easy, intuitive reach. The focal point of the cockpit is the dramatic instrument cluster situated around a color GPS Navigation system.
Tachometers and GPS/ Speedometer sit directly above in a unique automotive-style pods. This layout allows for easy monitoring of all onboard systems, even at high speeds in offshore conditions. This driver-friendly design carries forth to include the ideal placement of throttles, trim switches, steering wheel and armrest to make the thought process of managing the ZR’s systems secondary to the actual thrill of driving it.
Functionality redefined. The ZR’s efficient cockpit layout is a study in focused design. Seating surfaces have been designed around driver and passengers to an extent not before seen in boats of this type. There are concealed grab handles and individual footrests for all passengers, so everyone aboard can enjoy the ride.
Many of the ZR’s features are surprisingly user-friendly and practical – a true rarity in the performance boat field. For example, foredeck access is a breeze, thanks to large molded-in steps in the port helm, which work in concert with another step molded into the foredeck. There is plenty of cockpit storage, including a port glove box, an aft seat storage compartment (with insulated, self-draining cooler) and recessed pockets in the coamings with deep storage wells.
The cabin is accessed via a sliding etched-glass door with polished stainless steel frame. Down below the theme is practical, yet comfortable. A lightweight galley module featuring an innovative compact refrigerator provides convenience while also saving weight. An enclosed head compartment offers a freshwater sink with shower, as well as a porta-potti or optional vacuum-flush head. The main cabin salon consists of a large U-lounge that converts to a berth, allowing for the maximum use of available space.
The heart and soul of a racer.Beneath the ZR’s gleaming gelcoat skin lies lightweight Kevlar laminate with vacuum-infused coring for extra strength and the ideal resin-to-glass ratio. The composite, glass-encapsulated stringer system boasts a full length centerline keel stringer – something typically only found on race boats. A glassed and chemically-bonded hull-to-deck joint holds it all together and assures that there will be no flexing while underway.
The state-of-the-art running surface, combined with an aerodynamic design, near-perfect balance, and weight-saving lamination processes mean that the 35ZR is a boat that is built to fly! Top speed with twin Mercury 496 HO engines exceeds 80 mph. With twin Mercury 525 EFI engines, expect top speeds above 90.
