You can get the BMW X3 with massive 22-inch wheels

In case you needed more proof that modern cars are big, here’s an X3 with 22-inch wheels from the factory. The newly launched M Performance package parts guide for the luxury crossover includes massive wheels, which honestly don’t even look like much. That’s mainly because the latest X3 is big, measuring 187.2 inches long and 75.6 inches wide. It’s actually larger than the first-generation X5.

Although you can see the M badges from almost every angle, along with a quad exhaust system, this isn’t an X3 M. It’s an M Performance-equipped version, which will later be called the M50 instead of the old M40i. Aside from those massive matte black wheels, the new X3 gets a surprisingly large roof spoiler made of polyurethane. That’s honestly a bit much for a crossover, but the spoiler can be painted the same color as the body to blend in better.

The latest generation of the X3 should live up to expectations, given that the previous generation was BMW’s best-selling model of 2023 with 350,000 sales. Those seeking an extra layer of customization beyond what the regular configurator program offers should know that the M Performance parts extend to the interior as well. There’s everything from floor mats and stainless steel pedals to anodized aluminum door lock pins and an Alcantara-covered key fob. There aren’t any actual performance upgrades, or at least suspension or brake tweaks. Those side stickers won’t make the X3 any faster, and neither will the aramid antenna. All of these M Performance parts are offered without any extra effort, so the six-cylinder engine still makes 393 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque.
