1993 Suzuki Cappuccino

Suzuki’s Cappuccino was one of the few Kei cars to be sold outside Japan, with sales in the UK and Europe. Powered by a 657cc turbocharged inline 3 engine producing 63 hp, the Cappuccino laid claim to a 50/50 weight distribution with the engine placed behind the front axle and the drive being sent to the rear wheels.

Forming part of the Sporty Kei car’s ABC family alongside the Autozam AZ-1 and Honda Beat, meant the Suzuki Cappuccino was one of the better known Kei cars to come out of Japan. Selling the car outside of Japan was largely thanks to the interest of Suzuki UK, who negotiated the 18 month long process of getting the Cappuccino approved and homologated. Not all models shipped over would sell in the UK with Germany, Sweden, France and the Netherlands all distributing the car.
